My young son seems to have twigged that sugarpaste is just like Play Doh and has been earmarking projects he wants to (or get me to) try!

    I got one of those silicone moulds of a Teddy for my daughters birthday… It wasn’t a success! Suffice it to say a lot of decoration was required to make it look like a teddy! @pipersky1

    I made some lemon cupcakes about 4 weeks ago and used a piping bag to decorate them. It may not sound very adventurous but it was the first time I’d piped icing.

    The last decorated cake was a butterfly cake for my daughter’s birthday – although I did use a butterfly shaped tin and just pipe on decorations. I often make lovely tasting cakes, but would love to learn how to make them look a bit better!!

    Last cake I made was a football cake for my son’s birthday. Covered a sponge with green butter icing and then sprinkled coconut mixed with green food colouring on top then iced the lines on top. Bought goals, football players and a ball to go on top. It went down a storm.

    The last decorated cake that I ate was about 4 hours ago when I ate some of the Mother’s Day cake that my 2 teen girls made me complete with edible glitter and home-made icing butterflies 🙂

    I went to a basic cake decorating course recently and learnt how to cover the cake with buttercream icing, pipe words and detail on the cake and make fondant roses. would love to expand my cake decorating skills and this book is perfect

    The last decorated cake I ate was a slice of my colleagues wedding cake recently. I am not a huge fan of the fruit cake but the icing was outstanding and the photos of the cake before it was cut were awesome, so much detailing in icing flowers and the piping, was beautiful!

    I made some lovely carrot cupcakes for my mum on mothers day. I’d asked my dad what her favourite cake was he said Carrot, knowing my mums on a diet i tried to keep the calories minimal using fat free yogurt for the topping. When i got there my mum told me carrot cake was dads favourite. grrrr..

    I attempted my first royal icing and sugar paste cake last week. An Easter-themed cake with a bunny rabbit (with a carrott) and daisies…..I have to say that I was pretty chuffed to say so myself !!

    I made a Black Swan themed cake for a movie cake competition at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle – white buttercream rose icing piped into roses, with a big crack down the middle oozing red glace icing and studded with shards of broken black caramel! The judges were scared. I did not win 🙁

    Last week a made a Bojo cake (surinamese) for my daughters daycare as a farewell treat. Made of mainly cassave and fresh cocos and milk all decorating i did was some disco prinklers on top. I went down well luckely.

    im always looking through the kitchen cupboards finding things to make. the best time was when me and my daughter went through a phase of baking we baked for a whole week none stop coffe cakes, butterfly buns choclate cream cake etc . my daughters only 2 so she liked the stiring and im guessing her favourite part was licking the bowl clean x

    The last decorated cake I made was the (kind of) Christmas Cracker shaped chocolate cake that I made over the Christmas Holidays last year. It was a bit ‘gaudy’ to look at because I went a bit overboard on the red and green icing, not to mention all the gold edible decorations I covered it with, but it tasted very nice 🙂

    It was a 4-layer carrot cake with an orange flavour frosting I made on Sunday for Easter, decorated with my first ever try at fondant roses and a rice crispie treat nest full of mini eggs! It was HUGE and there was still half of it left at my mothers house when I left this morning!

    The last cake I decorated was a 60yj birthday cake for my brothers best friends mum .. it was a two tier stacked cake (carrot & chocolate) and festooned with lilac and pink roses and daisiies ! I was very impressed with myself 🙂

    Im only just starting to dip a very tentative toe into the waters of cake decorating so lots of cupcakes have been produced in my house in the last few weeks! I did some based on a 99 the other day which I was VERY proud of…vanilla sponge, vanilla buttercream with a flake shard inserted and crushed flake on top – the kids loved them and I hope to start getting more technical soon 🙂

    the last cake i made was a snail cake for my sons 4th birthday , we are reptile lovers and had originally planned to do a snake cake, the day b4 his birthday he decided he wanted a snail cake instead (his pet is a giant african land snail) so there i was with my fella trying to put together a snail cake ! it was totally a design out of our heads and actually worked really well , tasted pretty good and best of all made a 4 year olds day !

    The last iced cake I made was my daughter’s birthday cake, a Hello Kitty cake. I used fondant for the first time ever and it wasn’t too bad considering! I did make sure they turned off the lights before I brought the cake in though, lol!

    Havent made a cake for years, but the last one i ate was a really nicelt decorated cupcake, the butter icing on the top had been made all shimmery, and there were all sorts of fancy things over the top.
