Win a Le Creuset pie dish and Kate Winslet Labor Day movie tickets in today’s giveaway
Life may not always be peachy for three times married Kate Winslet but that’s probably what I like about her.
Ever since Heavenly Creatures – in which she plays a teenage murderer in New Zealand I have been a huge fan. Of course everyone knows her best for stuff like Titanic but even aside from the blockbusters, our second most famous Brit called Kate has played some amazing roles in films such as Hideous Kinky, Enigma (one of my all time favourite movies), Revolutionary Road and The Reader.
And now she’s back in a new movie called Labor Day released in UK cinemas from Friday 21st March. Based on the book by Joyce Maynard, Kate plays a depressed single mother who ends up harbouring an injured escaped convict in her house. I won’t give away how it works out but needless to say they find they have more in common than they realise and there’s more to her house guest (played by Josh Brolin) than meets the eye.
The two characters bond whilst baking a peach pie – hence today’s reincarnation as #PeachPieFriday and to get you in the mood for the movie I have a giveaway! And if you’d like to bake Kate’s peach pie from the movie you will find the recipe below.
Giveaway: pair of Labor Day movie tickets, Joyce Maynard’s Labor Day book and a Le Creuset Pie Dish

Louise Macfarlane says
My favourite pie filling has to be simply apples reduced right down to a thick gooey mess with some cinnamon and a little sugar on top of the pastry, simple is the best when it comes to pies, especially when you make the effort to pay a little more for the base filling i.e. Bramley apples! 🙂
Louise Macfarlane says
Apple and cinnamon, simple but the best! A little sugar sprinkled on top if the pastry looks and tastes really good 🙂
