Friday night and we kicked off with a blind wine tasting challenge. Tasting two pairs of wines with tips and information from Laura at Red White or Pink, there was short quiz about the wines. I’m a self confessed wine ignoramus. I only drink pink or fizzy and pathetically only managed to get one multiple choice question right. Without wanting to make her sound like an old soak, I was happily passing my whites and red to Aussie Foodie rather than tip them in the spitoon.
After the wine quiz was over, we enjoyed two types of tartlet; shredded duck and a courgette with pesto/parmesan number…
After the excitement of our Skype presentation with Jaden of Steamy Kitchen we stepped back outside to drink full sized glasses of wine and these individual Waldorf salads…

But before we knew it, it was Pimms o’clock.
We were faced with an incredible choice of granola, porridge (well ok, the porridge got totally ignored), sausage and bacon ciabatta butties, eggs benedict and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on brioche.

Thanks for sharing your photos. The food looks lovely and varied. Did you have a favourite dish?
I'll tell you a bit about how I use iPhoto; tell me if this is the kind of advice you were looking for or maybe it's all routine to you already.
When I import to iPhoto, one of the options I see is "autosplit events", which I always use because it divides the photos by the day on which they were taken. Then in iPhoto, I break the events down further so there is an event for each meal (or dish) and they are labelled first with a descriptor word. For example, "Food – turkey and tomato stew" or "Friends – Jo's hen party" so that all the food ones are together. (I also use "Restaurant" to distinguish food I didn't make myself.) Then I try to use the keywords to tag the photos as soon as I import them. (At least on the food photos. I don't do too many keywords on my personal photos.) I use the ingredients as key words ("raspberry", "cream cheese") and the final product ("cheesecake"). I also use cutlery keywords. This doesn't take too much time because usually all the photos in an event have similar keywords.
I have been doing all this tagging so that I can make "Smart Albums" by using the keywords as a sorting tool. For example, albums with "asparagus", "peas", and "fork" gets me exactly what I am looking for.
PS. I love granola. I am sad it was overlooked. 🙂

That's weird… I just commented earlier, but it's not here… strange! Anyway, what I said was that you captured all the food perfectly as I missed out on most of it (too busy eating it!) x

@barbarabakes Lots of new friends! It was amazing Barbara, you must come next time if you can
@mowie Ha ha, yes I wondered if any of you guys with the fish disaster would pick up on that. Your vanished comment was actually left on my previous post not this one so it hadn't gone into the ether. Thanks for the use of the Pimms picture too. I wasn't drinking it due to driving and totally forget to pick one up to photograph.

Wow Sarah well done! It's really good to have a post about the venue and food. And you're right that dessert does look spookily similar to the FBC logo.

Wow – you were FAR more dedicated than I was at photographing the food!! I missed almost all of the Friday dinner (apart from a snap of Meeta feeding me some of the fish, which hardly counts!!) I may have to borrow some of your photos when I put up my post later tonight! Great roundup and oooooh, spooky logo-lookalike dessert!
