At under £4 on Amazon, Hamlyn’s 200 Mini Cakes and Bakes is incredibly good value. Full of cute baking ideas, it’s the kind of book you’d pop in your basket as an impulse buy or give as a gift. It may not be as sophisticated as the latest celebrity offering but there’s a definite place on my shelf for a little book like this.

I love Helen’s breakdown of recipe cost! The great thing about these little books is they often so much inspiration for variations on classic recipes. My wish list on Amazon just got a little bigger…
