I’ve successfully been ignoring Christmas but even I have to admit now things are getting close.
The big advantage of staring down Christmas shopping like a rabbit in headlights is if you hold your nerve that the final four days before Dec 25 can start to unveil some serious discounts. One such example is the stunning Amara sale that started tonight – 70% off and still time to order before Christmas!
Their range of Pantone stationery is perfect for those difficult male relatives – who doesn’t use notebooks? – and for ladies there’s a heap of Orla Kiely and Cath Kidston stuff too. Most of all, I’m seriously tempted by the Donna Wilson plate down to £6.45 from £21.50, it’s by the sale designer as the fox plate I’d featured in my Christmas gift guide.
I’m definitely a last minute shopper. I buy my groceries on Dec 23rd then frequently I can be found scouring bargains in a deserted Westfield on Christmas Eve. If you can get away from home that day, it’s astonishing how empty shops are at the last minute with so many things marked down already. I steer clear of the Boxing Day sales with their crowds and messy shops and with online sales starting in the days before Christmas, increasingly the savvy thing to do is hit the computer anyway.
Amazingly, Amara’s last date for pre-Christmas orders in the UK is Dec 23. So if you’ve still some last minute gifts to buy or fancy a treat yourself there’s plenty of time left.
